Shannon possesses over eight years of diverse experience in the energy and environmental sector. Her primary focus is providing energy-related emissions management and other environmental services to Energy Advantage’s clients.

Before joining Energy Advantage, Shannon worked for a not-for-profit corporation providing business services to assist with new environmental technologies to support sustainable economic development. Earlier, she worked with a consulting firm specializing in corporate social responsibility, environmental management systems, product innovation and climate change. Shannon benefits clients with her knowledge of many programs and tools related to facility environmental management - including LEED and BOMA Go Green. She is qualified as a LEED Accredited Professional in Canada.

Shannon has extensive experience with Life Cycle Assessment, including analysis of energy inputs and emission outputs, and has verified Greenhouse Gas reductions for projects funded by the Technology Early Action Measures (TEAM) program. With Energy Advantage she has completed detailed Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories for several large clients, including an inventory for Hudson’s Bay Company that included over 550 facilities across Canada. She has also completed submissions under the Ontario Emissions Trading Registry to secure nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide emission set-aside credits created through energy efficiency projects. She has successfully completed CSA training courses on the ISO 14064 standard, which covers GHG inventories for organizations and GHG quantification for projects. She also undertook the GHG validation and verification training and examination offered by Environment Canada/Natural Resources Canada, where she achieved a top of class grade on the examination.

Shannon holds an honours B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences, majoring in environmental monitoring and analysis from the University of Guelph.
